Fire on the Island

Since Saturday, there has been a fire in the south part of Galiano Island. The island does not have a very big fire department - like many small communities, it relies on volunteers from the island.

There are very strong winds that are making things even more of a challenge for the volunteer fire fighters. Let's hope for a little rain soon.
